RHEINGAU COMMUNITY INTEGRATION PROJECT

Working Towards Successful Integration of Refugees

EBS University has initiated a Community Integration Project where we are evaluating local refugee initiatives to help identify the success of integration in the region. We are utilizing concepts of Theory of Change and Social Return on Investment (SROI), to identify how inputs of the community are being transformed into outcomes of integration. On this website you will be able to find our surveys, learning material on how to measure your own SROI and follow the progress of our project.

PURPOSE

Explore the impact of refugee integration in your community

Since 2014, 1.8 million refugees have arrived in Europe. So far in 2018, 102,882 refugees have arrived in Europe by sea. Many European countries have welcomed the refugees in with open arms. For example, in 2015 Germany accepted more than 1 million migrants. In all of these large-scale figures, it is easy to overlook the refugee’s impact on a municipal level. Thus far, little has been done to assess the impact of the refugees on individual communities within European countries. Our team consisting of students, educators, and professionals has developed a model to analyse both the inputs and outputs of all stakeholders involved in the integration of refugees into communities. Our ToC-model provides a method that any community may use in order to analyse how various people contribute to and benefit from integration. Please refer to each stakeholders displayed below in order to discover how each one may be analysed on an individual level.
